Finally, here's a blog post on J's birthday birthday trip to Taipei! It's gonna be a super lengthy post.

// DAY 1 //

After a 5 long hours flight, arrived Taipei airport in the morning and hotel only allow us to check in in the noon. So we decided to explore the area nearby. No word could describe how exhausted we were. Unfortunately most of the stalls were close, only McDonald were open. Grabbed some coffee beside we headed back to the hotel. Fianly we got to checked in after so many hours of wait. Can't wait to crash! Took a short nap before we continue to explore the rest of Taipei.

Xi Men Ding is just a walking distance from our hotel. When you're there, you've got to try their popular local food such as Ah Zhong mian xian, chicken cutlet , bubbles tea, and the list goes on! ou must try beef noodles and beef jerky just located beside Ah Zhong mian xian. One of the best i've eaten so far.

It's all about eating and trying food when you're travelling. I took J to this little stall somewhere in Xi Men Ding for local dishes. I can't remember what did we order, their lu rou fan and bubble milk tea is pretty good.

Graffiti walls in Xi Men Ding cinema road.

One thing i love about Taipei is that transportation are so so so convenient. We headed to ShiDa night market(師大夜市) which is just a few mins away. It is known for the most trendy style and bars and cafes. It get pretty crowded on the weekend.

You can find dirt cheap shopping here. I bought some knitted cropped tops in every colour! And some accessories which are imported from Korea. It worth getting them because for it quality and will not turn rusty.

We randomly settle down in a restaurant (can't remember the name) somewhere in ShiDa.
From the outside, their steaks look really nice.

Here come our starters.

And our main course. The food is average.

// Day 2 //

Woke up to perfect weather, we managed to put everything together within an hour. We decided to settle our breakfast at the nearby cafe. J look so good in red!

J is a huge fan of Chrome Hearts. Decided to check out some t-shirts. We had quite a hard time finding the shop. Thankful for google map, we found it less than an hour.

Dazzling Cafe 蜜糖吐司專賣店

No. 11, Alley 7, Lane 205, Section 4, Zhongxiao East Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106

This is really good!

 Zhongxiao East Road (忠孝東路) is something like our haji lane in Singapore.
A place where all the hidden gems are!

I was on a hunt for a nice restaurant to celebrate J's birthday. Thankful for friends who frequent Taipei and sent me whole lists of restaurant to try. I did some research and decided on Chamonix Teppanyaki.

Chamonix Teppanyaki 夏慕尼鐵板燒(光復北店)

95, GuangFu North Road
Hours:11:30 am-2:30 pm, 5:30-10 pm

Their menu is simple and food is reasonable for it quality. Waiters are polite and service is superb!
You have to make reservation as it is always fully book, especially on the weekends.

// DAY 3 //

Today decided to check out Taipei 101 for some shopping and food.
Filled our stomach with yummy xiao long bao at Ding Tai Fung.

It was late afternoon when we arrived Wu Fen Pu (Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area) aka shopping paradise! Tips: Do not go on Monday as retailers are there to buy stocks so suppliers will not entertain if you are getting one piece.

We were tired and famish after all the walking. Raohe night market( 饒河街觀光夜市) is just beside Wufenpu. This is one of the best place for food if you are craving their local food!

Next, Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) is considered one of the largest and popular night market in Taipei. Shilin Night Market has almost everything you need. Lots of food to try!

// DAY 4 //

Ready for some sea breeze? We took a train up to Tamsui (淡水).
It is a small charming city in north Taipei.

Breathe taking view!  I really love this place. You can actually rent a motorcycle and ride up to the mountain to catch the sunset. We chose to sit by the sea and enjoy tall ice cream and food.

Back to Zhongxiao East Road (忠孝東路) to try this restaurant. I wish i could remember the name of this place. They serve really  good steak. It is located just beside Honey Creme.

Back in hotel for movies and snacks.

// DAY 5 //

Back in Xi Men Ding for some beef noodles and we bought 10 packets of beef jerky(i'm munching one now). Our luggages are filled with food!

Met up with J's friends and took Mao Kong (貓空) cable car!  I'm afraid of height somehow but i'm fine with roller coster. I just cannot stand near a window which is 100 floor above the ground. To over come the fear, we choose the crystal clear one. Don't worry, i didn't panic and faint. I was enjoying the view all the time.

// DAY 6 //

Chen San Ding Bubble Tea 陳三鼎黑糖粉圓專賣店
Take the MRT to Gongguan Station, Green Line

青蛙撞奶 (direct translation: frog crashing milk) is the best bubble tea i had so far.
Made of fresh milk and brown sugar and pearls that melt in your mouth which makes me wonder what have i been eating all this while.

Back to  Zhongxiao East Road (忠孝東路) for more shopping and desserts.
Tried honey creme for the very first time.

Dinner at Ding Wang Spicy Hotpot Restaurant (鼎王麻辣鍋)

No. 89號, Guāngfù North Road, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Parties at BABE18 & MYST.

// DAY 7 //

Last night was insane! I had too much and needed to detox today. There are many hot spring hotels in BeiTou. You can choose either to stay for an hour or so or for a night.

We went to Golden Hot Spring Hotel, recommended by a friend of ours. The room is very comfortable and has pretty decor on the walls.

I actually deleted the photos from my camera hence i have no photos to share with you all :(

// DAY 8 //

Dim sum for breakfast. Just beside our hotel there is a huge departmental store where you can get all the local snacks like sunny biscuit and pineapple tarts.

Had my last glass of bubble before i say good bye to Taipei.

I-Taipei service department(京站國際酒店式公寓) was our last stop. I actually wanted to stay in this apartment, however they are fully booked when i was checking online :( They have a shopping centre just below the apartment. If you are looking for brands like Jeffery campbell and any other brand along that line, you can find it here.

They are many more places we have yet to explore such as hello kitty cafe, Deja Vu - jay chou's restaurant, Jiufen (九份) for sky lanterns, and the list goes on.

Look forward to more holidays with J!
